Meet Dana Barberis, Senior Inside Sales Account Manager, West and Central United States

Read our interview with Dana Barberis of TSC Printronix Auto ID based out of our Southern California office as we spotlight employees that have a positive impact on our products, services, and customers.

Staff: How long have you worked for TSC Printronix Auto ID?

Dana Barberis: I’ve been with TSC Printronix Auto ID for three years, but I’ve been in the industry much longer. Prior to joining the company, I worked at Printronix LLC for nineteen years, so I brought a lot of industry and thermal barcode labeling experience with me.

Staff: What is your position at the company?

DB: I am a Senior Inside Sales Account Manager supporting the West and Central United States, along with several Enterprise Accounts. I have known many of my customers for over fifteen years, so they seem more like friends than just customers. In addition to working with customers, I support the regional and national sales managers in my region.

On average, I am on the phone six or more hours a day. Resellers contact me with questions on everything from products and services to pricing. If I am unable to answer a question, I refer the inquiry to experts within the company and respond back to the customer on the same day. I occasionally visit customers at their facility to gain a clearer understanding of what specific requirements are needed for their application. This firsthand view allows us to recommend a solution more effectively. It also gives us an opportunity to assess their service needs and make recommendations. I enjoy meeting face-to-face with a customer, it’s great to put a face to the name. Plus, I feel I am able to walk away with a better understanding of their needs.

When end-users contact the company, their questions are a little different. I listen to their needs, recommend possible barcode labeling solutions and ultimately put them in contact with a Power Partner in the area who is familiar with their industry. I use my knowledge of labeling products and familiarity with our resellers to ensure that every customer has a positive experience and finds a qualified installation company to work with.

Staff: What do you like best about working for TSC Printronix Auto ID?

DB: That is an easy question. I enjoy working with our customers. For me work is personal. I always put my customers first and knowing that I helped them makes my day. I also appreciate the quality of our products and integrity of the company. I would not want to work for a company that I could not be proud of. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the TSC Printronix Auto ID team.

Staff: What is the nicest thing a customer has ever said to you?

DB: My customers are great people to work with and they say nice things all the time. Just recently a customer told me that I helped them grow their business. That meant a lot to me. I try to go above and beyond every day and it is nice to hear positive feedback.

Staff: What is something people do not know about you?

DB: I love the water. I lived in Hawaii for a few years then moved back to Southern California and have lived near the beach ever since. I also love to jet ski and go boating on the Colorado River in Arizona.

My other interest is cars. I enjoy going to drag races and vintage car shows with my boyfriend.
