TSC printers used around world

5 [More] Unexpected Places to Find TSC Printers Around the World

TSC printers aren’t just used to print shipping labels, retail receipts, or barcode wristbands.

They’re found in many different industries, in many different applications, all across the planet.

Want to see how?

Here are five (more) unexpected places TSC printers are used in around the world.

1) A Soccer Stadium in Moldova

About

Located in Chisinau, the capital city of the Republic of Moldova, Zimbru Stadium is a soccer (football) stadium which opened in 2006 and can host up to 10,500 spectators.

It’s also where three major local teams play their games: Zimbru Chisinau, FC Dacia Chisinau, and the national football team of Moldova.

Situation

Before installing the TSC printers, cashiers from Moldavian Football Federation experienced many complications because of an outdated solution they used to print entrance tickets.

One of the most significant issues was their lack of authorized service centers. During peak periods, for instance, the lines at the ticket offices and the entrances in Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau were quite long and moved slowly.

Solution

A Moldovan solutions provider called Melitex-Group SRL developed a reliable printing solution for Zimbru Stadium using TSC’s ME240 industrial thermal label printers.  Melitex-Group chose to use the ME240 for several reasons including its low footprint and low-profile design with all-metal construction and a die-cast aluminum print mechanism engine.

Results

TSC’s compact ME240 provides a consistent, quick printing process and ticketing for Zimbru Stadium. The powerful thermal transfer models save time and prevent long queues at the ticket offices and at the entrances.

2) Hospital Medicine-Dispensing Machines in Taiwan

Situation

To decrease drug-dispensing errors and improve patient safety, Taiwanese hospital pharmacies print diagnostic information on patient medicine bags before they are dispensed.

Each medicine bag also must meet regulations from Taiwan’s Department of Health as well, including the number of items that are labeled on each bag.

Solution

To speed up the automated patient prescription process, many hospital pharmacies now use the TSC’s ME240 thermal print mechanism and ribbon in their automated-dispensing machines (ADMs).

Using the high-performance ME240, the ADM prints medication information on the prescription bag and then inserts and seals the drugs in the package.

Results

The ME240s provide a high-quality, streamlined process that ensures that all prescription information meets DOH regulations to hospitals pharmacy systems throughout Taiwan.

3) A Pet Food Company in Germany

About

Founded in 2004, Jeffo’s Homemade Goodies, doing business as Jeffo GmbH & Co. KG, is a successful, international company which specializes in healthy treats and snacks for many different animals.

Situation

To identify more than 200 different products, Jeffo would use preprinted cartons and packages as well as stickers for goods packed in bags.

Applying batch numbers and minimum shelf-life data or making quick changes or applying additional information was very challenging using a hand-held labeler – especially given the increasing number of languages the products were being sold in.

Solution

TSC’s reliable TTP-346MT was selected after an intensive tender process due to its high-quality processing and user-friendly touch display.

Part of the TTP-2410MT Series, the TTP-346MT offers a 300-dpi resolution at speeds up to ten inches per second.

Results

TSC’s TTP-346MT printers have brought Jeffo’s numerous benefits including a high amount of efficiency, a great degree of flexibility, excellent print quality, and maximum transparency.

4) A Russian Diagnostic Laboratory

About

The National Agency for Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacy, LLC (NACPP) is one of the largest clinical diagnostic laboratories in Moscow, Russia, processing more than 10,000 patient specimens per day.

Situation

The clear, accurate labeling of specimen containers is critically significant to NACPP. After all, lives depend on it.

Unfortunately, specimen-tracking equipment from a previous vendor had trouble keeping up with the work volume and was not always reliable; it slowed testing down, held up operations and service, and drove up the cost of already high-priced chemical agents.

Solution

TSC and its Russian reseller offered the perfect solution: TSC’s TTP-225, a compact, two-inch-format 203-dpi barcode label printer that’s used in medical facilities around the world. The TTP-225 is ideal for healthcare because of its small size, easy media loading, and head open sensor.

Results

The TTP-225 prints on high-strength polypropylene labels instead of paper to guarantee resilience, robustness, and readability.

And it can use the existing ribbon stock purchased for the lab’s old printers, thus reducing the cost of consumables.

5) Self-Service Movie Theater Ticket Kiosks in Thailand

Situation

When a blockbuster movie opens, moviegoers by the thousands will flock to theaters during opening week. If a cinema is understaffed at the ticket window, long lines and delays often result.

That’s why movie theaters in Thailand are partnering with TSC for self-service theater ticket kiosks.

Solution

By integrating TSC’s TDP-247 printer with self-service ticket-vending machines, movie theaters can speed up the process of selecting movie seats and buying tickets.

The TDP-247 has proven to be the perfect solution for this application because it can print four-inch-wide 203-dpi labels at speeds up to 7 inches per second and offers best-in-class speed and high-resolution capabilities.

Results

Instead of waiting in line at the ticket window, customers can select their movie using a self-service kiosk. The use of self-service ticket-printing machines provides customers with the ability to speedily purchase movie tickets without having to stand in a queue at the ticket window.
